Inter American Bank approves Chile’s US$460 million loan

SANTIAGO, Chile - Luis Alberto Moreno, the president of the Inter American Development Bank (IDB), said his organization has approved a US$460 million loan for Chile to help in its recovery from a massive earthquake and tsunamis that tore through parts of the country on Feb. 27. Moreno, who attended Chilean President Sebastián Piñera's inauguration on March 11, said the IDB stands by Chile during its reconstruction. "The IDB is at the disposal of President Piñera's government and its authorities to help Chile surpass the catastrophe and in every possible way we could be useful," he said.
