Tax Free Zone Cuba

Industrial free trade zones have been created in order to attract foreign investors, given that the geographical position of the island is a real asset.

There are 4 free trade zones within the island:

  • Havana in Bond,
  • Ciudad Habana,
  • Wajay's zone (near the airport)
  • Mariel's harbour zone

The City of Havana zone has the best infrastructure and, arguably, the best location - on the Havana-Varadero highway, Cuba's most heavily traveled route. The zone already has access to the port and features warehouses, sound security systems and a complex of office buildings.

Free Zones benefits for approved companies include exemptions from customs duties and from taxes on profits, utilities and employees.

Companies in the zone may be 100 percent foreign-owned and will be permitted to sell in the domestic market up to 25 percent of the goods they produce in the zones.

More than 140 foreign companies have opened companies in Cuba free zones.
