Tax Free Zone in the Dominican Republic

The Industrial Tax Free Zones in the Dominican Republic is a geographical area where local and foreign companies can be established and its products or services shipped to the international market with incentives that will boost its development such as: Customs special controls and Tax incentives. After passing the 299 Law, on April 23, 1969, the Free Zone Sector started to grow in the Dominican Republic. The first one to be created was called " La Romana Free Zone" and later, " San Pedro de Macoris Free Zone", created by law in 1971 and built in 1972.

The Fomento Industrial Corporation administrates the San Pedro de Macoris Tax Free Zone. It is the second Industrial Park established in the Country in 1972. Actually this is the largest Industrial Park under Fomento's administration, and the second largest in the Dominican Republic with a total of 103 Industrial Plants (buildings) occupied by 49 companies dedicated to several activities such as : Textile, shoes, luggage, leather goods, electronic parts, crafts, jewelry and services providers.
