The punch must be high enough so that when the last two bends are made the preformed sides will not stroke the ram. The minimum punch height is shown for various box depths for forming 90° bends.

Tipping the included angle of the die set allows for a deeper box to be formed and is limited to 18 gauge and lighter material.
